Lonely Nights

Subtle and scary were those nights,
Life wasn't simple, one must fight.
Sleepless, I keep staring at the ceiling,
The pain I went thought, was not healing.

I see my life going up in flames,
I am no hero, am not Bond James.
Dejected in life, I try to seek light,
Subtle and scary were those nights.

At the stroke of midnight, when every one was sound sleep,
I sit up in bed, trying hard not to weep.
I still wonder, if this is the life I wanted to lead,
For mere money, I lost my entire creed.

Mind has no rest; it’s always deluded with thought,
Where are my friends, no ones near by, who are my friend? I guess I forgot.
I keep wondering, if I can do anything right,
Subtle and scary were those nights.

Mahatma – Gen Next Icon??

Mahatma – (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi) has suddenly been put back into limelight! The Father of the Nation is once again taking center stage in popular culture; all thanks to the media!! Soon after the release of the movie ‘Lage Raho MunnaBhai’, Ghandism was rejuvenated. The icon of India’s independence has now moved beyond road signs and is now become modern and digital. Gandhi is now seen in advertisements and promos these days. Recently I read that the youngsters believe Gandhi is ‘cool and trendy’. Well what’s so cool about him? Its been almost 60yr since India became independent. Well where was Gandhi all these years? How come he became an icon again? Well I guess this is the best way to promote our old hero’s who are all lost in the history books. I don’t remember, remembering our heros’ who fought for our independence after passing the history exams :). Well what can I say, ‘Lage Raho Gandhi’ji…..’
